Alkali sacaton is a pale green bunchgrass with a grayish tint and grows 2.5 to 5 feet tall. It provides good grazing for livestock and the large bases may be used by bobwhites and ground-nesting birds. Alkali sacaton is a stable plant and usefull for erosion control in heavy rains.
