Switchgrass

Switchgrass is a native panicum grass and is considered one of the four highly desirable tall grasses along with little bluestem, big bluestem, and indiangrass. Panicum grasses constitute around 450 species of grasses with the majority originating in the tropical regions of the world and a few species extending into the northern temperate zone. Most panicums are large grasses growing three to nine feet tall.
