      Sand Dropseed - Native

Sand dropseed is a long lived, bluish-green, native perennial bunchgrass that grows 10 to 42 inches tall. Sand dropseed seed is tiny at approximately 5 million seeds per pound. Sand dropseed produces a dense, sand binding, network of roots that can spread up to 2 feet laterally and as deep as 8 feet. The grass is a prolific seed producer, a fair grazer for livestock, and may be eaten by quail and songbirds. Sand dropseed increases well on depleted areas and rebounds well from drought and overgrazing.
